It’s no secret that certain scents and smells can bring back fond memories of days gone by – and in this post, I’m going to share how I use essential oils in my home and office to make the holiday season a happier one.
If you are into holiday scents, this is the post for you!
The Key Scents for the Season
When the calendar flips to November, and especially December I get giddy! This is the time of year that I especially love using essential oils to help me a feel a certain way – happy and energized, calm and relaxed, or even focused; I use oils every single day. I use oils in a lot of different ways, but my favorite method is through diffusing – it’s a quick way to reap the benefits of pure oils.
During the holiday season I always make sure I have the following oils on hand:
- Wild Orange
- SIberian Fir
- Juniper Berry
- Douglas Fir
- *On Guard
*I use and love DōTERRA oils, but at this time have no ties to the company. I realize that there are several quality brands out there.
My Favorite Blends
My favorite way to use these oils are in blends, meaning I will diffuse 2 or more oils at a time. As I write this, I have a blend of On Guard and Holiday Joy going in my diffuser. Holiday Joy is a blend of fir and cinnamon with orange and nutmeg + vanilla. The On Guard is sort of the same, minus fir, nutmeg and vanilla. It smells like Christmas in here! So yummy!
Some of my other blends + recipes are:
- 3 drops Cinnamon + 3 drops Orange + 3 drops Siberian Fir
- 4 drops Orange + 2 drops Cassia
- 3 drops Juniper Berry + 2 drops Siberian Fir + 3 drops Orange
I honestly have so many different recipes that I use all the time, but these are indeed my go to holiday ones.
Do you diffuse essential oils? If so, what are your favorites? If you haven’t, but want to know more about what they can do, drop me a comment and let me know.
